  A lovely cottage, made all the more enjoyably by the forward thinking of Mel, the owner.

  Unlike so many holiday lets, there were more than enough items of crockery, and everything had been thought of -even a shopping list pad! Lots of towels available, not just the ones that were left out for instant use! As well as all of the kitchen items we could have wished for, we found everything we could have used for the dog- feeding bowls, lead, torches for night time walks, mitts for drying paws, you name it, it was there. Beautifully furnished home, which was very comfortable. The wifi was a bit flaky, but that didn't cause a problem, and is probably the result of the village location. Mel left us comprehensive supplies to 'start us off'. Not just milk and a couple of tea bags- jar of coffee, tea bags, box of biscuits, prosecco, crisps, bottled water, litre of milk, pack of butter, bread...... Despite a chilly Yorkshire week in early January, we were toasty warm with the underfloor heating. Mel and Paul were very helpful telling us about local facilities. Almost forgot to add, there are lots of 'extras', which folk tend to take, just in case - you won't need them! Loo rolls, hand wash, salt & pepper, sauces, sugar, laundry liquid, cleaning sprays.   Lovely stay again thanks to Keith and Anji.

  Cooper Cottage would benefit from a replacement fridge - current one has very little useable space due to freezer compartment (unnecessary, as there's a separate freezer) and batons in door pop out if anything of weight (ie milk / bottles) are stored in door storage. Appears the games room has been consigned to history, which is understandable if Pottofields Cottages don't get many young guests, but if you do get youngsters, it would enhance the holiday cottages if this was refreshed and updated. I noticed an EV charging point. We're still on petrol, sadly, but aspiring to an EV as soon as realistically possible. A real plus for holiday cottages in such a rural area where the nearest commercial charging points are probably quite a long way away. Fantastic to see commitment to carbon reduction. A lovely stay again! Keith is always very responsive and helpful. We'll probably be back :-)

  We had an excellent stay at The Byre.

  The accommodation was extremely good and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and gave us a better night’s sleep than at home! We also enjoyed the walk-in shower, which was used a lot during our stay during a heatwave in September. The 2 dogs on the farm were very friendly and got on fine with our dog. Melanie and Paul were the perfect hosts and made us very welcome. They didn’t seem to mind us being nosy and taking an interest in their 4 lovely horses and other things on the farm. The Beeswing Inn is only a few minutes walk away, is dog friendly, and well worth a visit for a meal and a drink. We hope to return for another holiday at The Byre and would recommend it for anyone thinking of going. Paul, Gay & Masie the black lab.

  We had a very enjoyable and relaxing week’s stay at Cooper cottage despite the weather being very mixed .

  The cottage was very comfortable, roomy and tastefully furnished and decorated . The only complaint we had was with the electric cooker which was a very old model and not particularly efficient ( a downer for us as we tend to cook in every evening ) . Keith , who showed us round when we first arrived was very personable and on hand if we required any information . The cottage was nicely situated , within easy reach of the coast and the Yorkshire Moors and some lovely market towns ( our favourite being Stokesley ) .For dog owners ,like ourselves , the open area outside the cottage was ideal for exercising your pet . Just a thought …… perhaps a hand rail would be useful in the shower ( for the more elderly guests !!) .

  Used Sykes for the first time.

  With so many properties to choose from the choice was difficult but we wanted Ground floor accommodation and access to an exercise area for our young dog. We saw The Byre and chose it on the basis of the pictures and reviews. We were not disappointed. Very good accommodation, owner was very helpful and the welcome basket of items was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Quiet area, good parking and entrance through a large Utility Room made changing wet clothes and dog drying easy, also easy for cleaning. Local pub only a short walk and travel time to Northallerton and Richmond approx. 30 minutes. All in all an enjoyable week.
