Guests say

Castle View is a spacious and well-presented property, highly praised for its cleanliness, ample facilities, and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. It comfortably accommodates large groups and is centrally located for easy access to Scarborough's attractions. Some concerns about the immediate neighbourhood and maintenance issues are noted, but overall, guests have had enjoyable stays and many would recommend the property.

Guests consistently describe the property as very clean and spotlessly maintained, indicating high standards of cleanliness throughout their stays.

The central location is appreciated for its proximity to local amenities and the beach, although some guests express concerns about the immediate area, with mentions of a run-down neighbourhood.

The property is generally found to be comfortable, with plenty of room for large groups. However, some guests mention that the top bedrooms have restrictive headroom and steep stairs, which affects comfort for those guests.

Facilities are deemed excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. Maintenance issues such as a noisy fridge and a non-working dryer are noted, suggesting room for improvement.

Guests appreciate the welcome pack and festive touches like a Christmas tree, which add to the property's charm. It is politely noted that such gestures, while delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The kitchen was very well equipped and the lounge was comfortable. Location is excellent and parking wasn't an issue. The biggest issue for us was the top two bedrooms. These were far from the standard of the rest of the house. They are too small for adults to move and stay comfortably as the roof restrictions make it difficult. There was little space to stand, even for shorter adults. The stairs up were perilously steep and the rooms were not well presented at all. Both rooms lacked any of the touches seen on the lower floors and access to the shower room was ridiculous because it was so small. They felt like an after thought compared to the rest of the house. 3 guests who used those rooms were not particularly happy. We planned a family BBQ during our stay as the description says there is a secure garden. There is no garden, no grass, nowhere to sit outside, just an enclosed yard that is big enough to let a dog out briefly. Suffice to say we changed plans! The house next door is being converted into a HMO so currently there is a lot of associated building noise. It's not too bad during the day, but during our stay they started about 7am and woke up the entire house. We called the local contact and she had a word with them and the start time was later for the last day we were there. Some advance notice that builders were there would have been helpful. It seems they've been there a while and will be there a while longer. This is a great holiday house up to the second floor, located centrally to the town centre and the sea front is walking distance. A great base for a family holiday.
