This beautiful converted stable is located next to the owners working arable and livestock farm in rolling countryside, a mile from the Borders village of Chirnside. Chirnside takes its name from the ancient Cairn that stood on a hill to the east of the village. It is perched on the ridge between the historic, walled town of Berwick-on-Tweed and Duns, overlooking the Tweed Valley and the distant Cheviots. The village itself is incredibly picturesque and prides itself on its many beautiful gardens. Eight miles away, you'll find the glorious, sandy beaches of Coldingham and Eyemouth, with its working harbour. Nearby attractions also include Maderston, Mellerstain, Paxton House and Ayton Castle. The grounds of the Hirsel ad Duns Castle Estate are also open to the public, as is St Abbs Head; a nature reserve run by the National Trust. The River Tweed provides fantastic opportunities for fishermen, walkers and bird-watchers and there is much evidence of the region's historic and turbulent past to be found in the spectacular countryside.

The welcome pack was muchly appreciated, Sue was lovely, great chatting to you only saw Steve mowing the lawns, but a great job he does of keeping the enclosed garden tidy, Duke our Staffy loved the garden especially doing zoomies! And also to be allowed to walk him around your farm snd the wild flower meadow Comfy bed, everything you need kitchen wise, and beautifully decorated We had amazing weather, hopefully we will be able to return in the future, highly recommend Thank you

!!!!!! I believe that there is a client base who regularly rebook, like us. It has its own safe parking. The garden is dog proof unless you own a high-jumper or a mountain goat. ---- You are welcome to walk around the farm and adjoining tracks and the owners are on site and very welcoming. The village has a shop, pubs and a chip shop --- very handy for tea on your first evening The heating is more than adequate and the bathroom is heated by a large towel rail which never goes cold. There are very many places of interest, including near-deserted beaches, within a short car ride and most places are dog-friendly, especially the cottage, itself.
