What our customers say about their holidays

  • Laura - Verified booking

Just got home from a wonderful week at St Micheal's House.

Honestly cannot fault it at all. Sally was there to welcome us when we arrived and gave us a quick tour of the cottage and told us some history of the property. She had even baked us a cake and put a pint of milk in the fridge so we could have a cup of tea whilst we settled in. All bed linen, towels, etc were included. Also little things like hairdryers, soap, and washing up liquid which most places always overlook. The house was lovely and clean and very cosy. The garden is a great size if you have inquisitive dogs and/or children. Very pet-friendly. Dog beds, towels, blankets, water bowls, and treats were all provided which was a nice touch. I managed to break my ankle on the first day of the holiday by falling down a pothole on the causeway. Sally was lovely and offered us aids such as a wheelchair, shower seat, and bath seat in order to make our stay more comfortable. She also gave us some ideas of places to visit which were accessible. I honestly cannot think of a single bad thing to say about the whole week. Even the weather was good for Halloween/Bonfire Night week. Lovely host and lovely accommodation. We ventured out to Appley park which is a must-do for anyone who wants a walk along the coast and also through woodland etc. And also the walk that Sally recommends when you check-in (Just watch out for potholes ;) ). Also busy bees garden centre is right opposite the big Tesco and a must-do. Especially if you visit when their Christmas shop is there. It is a beautiful place to go and visit. We will definitely be coming back next year once we have booked annual leave. Thank you so much!!! <3 x

Sally the lovely owner gave us a very warm welcome & showed us around this beautiful property, giving an excellent guide of the house & explaination of how the gas fire & other items worked, with 2 folders with all the information to hand that you need.

She had also made a very beautiful cake & some shortbread, with milk tea, sugar & coffee provided, which were very much enjoyed throughout our stay. The house & garden are very lovely, all enclosed so your dog is quite safe. The water is always as hot as you need it to be & the showers are great. This is a very peaceful location & St Helen's causeway is lovely to walk across to the beach. Very easy to get to Ryde & other locations, very well situated. We met Anthony during the week who was also lovely, & he fixed the gas fire - which just need batteries to restart it. I will happily return to this property on my next visit. I was 100% very happy with my stay, a home from home. Thank you to Sally & Anthony for everything they do to make sure you are happy, they are always there for you, s

Sally the owner was at the cottage when we arrived.

Lovely lady showed us everything we needed to know. We took our dog. Nice secure garden for him and dog beds .bowls etc. Sun shined in on us every morning with the very large windows down to the floor ..which was lovely. Just a shame it rained later We did quite a bit of cooking .have everything we needed. Big walk in shower downstairs and bathroom upstairs. Cottage is in a nice location not far from ryde town which has a nice town and beach. Parking was ok just a few steps across from cottage. Our dog decided to bite the corner of one of the pillows cases. We told Sally we had ordered a replace duvet set, she was really understanding about this which was nice. Nice little cottage for a small family in a good location for travelling all over the Isle of Wight

Sally is a brilliant hostess and we have never been to a place better prepared for dogs.

The garden is secure, there are dog bowls and treats, it all works. And the kitchen has all the gadgets you might ever hope to see and then some. Beds comfortable, everything sparkling. Easy to get to once you spot the little road. And never have I heard so many birds. The woodpecker was clearly practising to compete with Liam Gallagher, Philip the Pheasant was on fine form though we didn’t see Philippa. The Best Dressed Crab just down the road gave us outstanding sea food, crab baguettes and lobster salad. Lily’s in Seaview dud us proud for Monday pre ferry brunch. And St Helen’s is v convenient for everywhere we wanted to be. Almost certainly going back, if Sally will have us.

St Michaels House is so welcoming and cosy.

Sally the owner was there to greet us on arrival. She had made us the most amazing cake. There was also milk and tea and coffee so we could sit and relax with a slice and a cuppa after our journey The cottage is a bit smaller than it looks on the photos but so homely and comfortable. The dog proof garden was great for our little houdini aka Ted. The weather was not brilliant but it was nice to settle back in the comfort of the cottage after a day out. St Helens is a good base for seeing the island and The Vine pub serves some lovely pub grub. We would certainly recommend St Michaels House and look forward to staying there again in the future.
