  We stayed at this cottage during the Christmas holiday and found it to be a mixed experience.

  The property itself is charming and in a beautiful location, but there were several issues that affected our stay. The heating in the house is not very strong, making it relatively cold during the winter months, and it cannot be adjusted, which was inconvenient. The shower water was also on the colder side, though still manageable. Additionally, the cottages are part of a connected complex, and one of the other houses triggered a fire alarm while setting up their fire pit. This disrupted all the cottages for about half an hour, including ours while we were enjoying Christmas dinner. We contacted the maintenance team, but they only recorded the issue over the phone and didn’t resolve it immediately. The next morning, the house lost power entirely, forcing us to change our plans and head into town instead of staying in. Overall, the place has potential, but these minor issues, especially during the colder months, detract from the experience. While it’s a decent option for a stay, I would recommend improvements to heating, water temperature, and maintenance response to make it more comfortable for guests.

  Skyfall is a beautiful holiday home, stylishly furnished.

  The kitchen was fully equipped and easy to use. We had a few things that could be improved, there was no fan and the flat has no ventilation, it was 29 degrees when we were there and the heat in the apartment was unbearable. I would have expected body wash and shampoo to be provided as you would expect at any stay. Extra towels were not provided even though we were there for 7 days so we had to wash our towels. There was no extra toilet paper provided so we ended up buying some more. It said dog treats were provided but the jar was empty when we got there. Over all, beautiful apartment, things I wouldn’t even think of were provided such as dvds and cd’s however lacked the basics.

  The property was impressive on entry but further inspection revealed slight stains on the fabric of the settees and dining chairs.

  The carpet in the main bedroom was starting to fray along the door strip into the en-suite. None of this affected the comfort or enjoyment of our holiday but we felt it should be brought to the attention of the owners to prevent higher costs to them if left un-resolved. This is our fourth holiday at Meadowcroft and this is certainly one of, if not the, nicest apartment we have had. Please pass on our thanks to the owners for an enjoyable holiday (despite the miserable weather).

  Skyfall is lovely.

  Great location. The accommodation was very nice and comfortable. We were so lucky with the weather we were able to sit in the communal gardens and enjoy a glass of wine on an evening. We also enjoyed a game of tennis too. Only recommendations for the accommodation would be towelling robes and maybe a heavier doorstopper as the living room door would not stay open with the current stopper. We would definitely recommend a stay at Skyfall

  Wonderful holiday apartment, we enjoyed our stay here and it was a great location for Windermere and beyond.

  Our only quarrel was the outside light which was so very bright all night into the main bedroom. Perhaps this light could be put on a timer or a sensor? It forced us to sleep in the twin room for 2 nights but then unfortunately we heard the boiler start at 7am. Another frying pan would also have been nice for our breakfast. Minor things, easily sorted. I would come back no problem, wish we could have stayed longer!
