What our customers say about their holidays

Hi. Firstly, we want to say that we found Sarah to be helpful and caring in her communications.
Thank you. We arrived at the property after a long drive and we blown away by the view from the terrace. Really spectacular. Just in brief though, there were a few things that we wanted to raise. We felt there could've been more of a welcome at the cottage. A small welcome note or at least instructions on where to find local information. The local information "folder" was tucked away on a shelf which was concealed by the sofa. We had to hunt for it. And in it, well, not much information. Not up to date anyway. There was a draw stuffed full of every flyer in existence from the local area, but that was a bit daunting so we left it. So aside from a lovely (brief) conversation with Sarah, as we had taken a wrong turn on arrival, we we relived to arrive but it all felt a bit "cold" and unwelcoming in the cabin. Practical things. There were dirty towels left of the back of one of the bedroom doors and a half drunk bottle of mineral water left on the top bunk (which was not made up with fresh linen - or any linen). In these paranoid COVID times, this isn't fantastic. So we were missing one set of bed linen. When you pay for an entire cabin, even if it sleeps 8 and there are only 7 of you, you should be given the option to use all of the beds. My daughter was feeling poorly on the first night, so I opted to sleep in the bunk room with her, which meant taking the linen off a twin bed and making up the top bunk myself. The cold tap in the bath didn't work but this was resolved the next morning by John, so thank you. We are coffee drinkers and were sad to find no way of brewing a coffee on our first morning. We used the teapot and a tea strainer in the end. Also in the kitchen, no scissors, no spare tea towels (aside from the one that was there) that we could find and no slice/spatular for the frying pan (only bar b q ones which were huge). Paying over £2000 for the week, I think basic kitchen items should be included. Now, we didn't watch much of it, but with no Wifi, our daughter watched a little TV. Someone before us had obviously been a little overzealous with the volume control, as the speaker is shot. The sound is scratchy and muffled. The batteries in the remote were also on the blink which was a bit of an annoyance. Again, something you'd think wouldn't be an issue in a venue with this price tag. The walk down to the beach is about 15/20 mins, but the walk back up is a schlep (up very steep hills), it took me (on my own) more like half an hour or so, so be warned with little ones. If you're going to the beach every day, you'd really need to use the car if you've got young children. It was further than we'd thought. If you're a dog owner, the only place they can run off the lead is the beach. You are surrounded by sheep. So this is something to bear in mind. This list seems pernickety, but it's only because we are listing everything we can think of to try to be helpful to others who may want to book. Without question this property delivers on an absolutely fantastic view and it's very spacious inside. It's the little things we felt were lacking. I think when you own a place like this, you perhaps rely on customers being so blown away by the view, that you perhaps feel the finer points don't matter. But we felt they did matter. And we missed them. Thanks though, the view is indeed breath taking.

What a fabulous house!
We siblings have been spending an annual week together for more than ten years. Our main requisites are at least four en suites, comfortable seating, plenty of parking space and a pool table. Brynmorwydd did us proud with the added bonus of a sea view! As others have said itâs a truly special house, we especially enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory after an invigorating walk along the beach. Some extra info: The kitchen is very well equipped with good sized pans, trays, serving dishes, nice crockery, glasses and cutlery. (you may need to bring your favourite sharp knife and maybe a hand mixer if necessary - there is a small blender however). Thereâs a large American style double fronted fridge/freezer plus a wine cooler and an additional counter height freezer. Thereâs two kettles, two toasters and a slow cooker! Thereâs a badminton set and boules, ideal for the large level lawn. We enjoyed a good evening meal at the Seabreeze restaurant in Aberdovey which we are happy to recommend. Also the Trefeddian hotel down the road ( quite a bit more than 50 yards) welcomes non residents for meals and the use of their facilities (apart from the swimming pool) so long as you enjoy a drink there (at least!) All in all we had a super time and wholeheartedly recommend this property.

The lodge was very clean and has everything that you need for a holiday by the sea.
It is quite high-up in the hills behind Aberdovey and the "low cloud" weather meant the lodge was in the clouds :) It is a single-file lane that leads to the lodge park but was not a problem as we were there out-of-high-season. The views were amazing. The weather was not good enough for us to enjoy the decking and outdoor facilities but there were plenty and in summer would be magnificent. The car park is a little way from the lodge with steps down and up to the lodge, so could be awkward for moving alot of cases etc..Facilities were perfect which means you don't have to take all your kitchen stuff. All the equipment was in good working order and the heaters in the bedroom were very efficient. The gas heater in the lounge seemed to give-up after a short time, which may have been the gas was low but we didn't delve too much as it wasn't freezing. The beds were comfortable and clean. The lounge and conservatory suites were also comfortable and clean. The french doors onto the decking could do with being more secure. The shower was hot and a good pressure. Plenty of parking space. Great for dogs (we have 2 well behaved Shar Pei). Overall we had a fab holiday, even with the dodgy weather.

Brynmorwydd is exactly as described but it is difficult to fully emphasise the spectacular location.
Perched on a great vantage point on a hill it overlooks a golf course and the ocean. It takes just 5 minutes to reach the golf course by foot. There are a number of paths across the gold course which takes you onto a sandy beach. When the tide is out the beach is somewhere between 70-100 mtrs wide and you can easily walk 3 kms along the beach towards the town of Tywyn. It you are a group of golfers then it is perfect, if you are a family with a dog it is equally perfect and offers great walks both around the beach area or hill walks behind the house. Coming out of the lock down there were challenges preventing dining out but the local restaurants did some amazing speciality meals for collection and with some astute study of the local shop hours we were never without any essentials. It is less than two hours drive to Llanberis or Pen y Pass so easily allows a climb of Snowdon on the same trip. There are some waves which encourage the surfers but take a wet suit, even on the warmer days there can be a cool breeze as elsewhere ion the UK. Dave the owner is very helpful and down to earth. Fully recommend this cottage and location...!

This place is perfect.
The views are amazing. The cabin comfortably accommodated 4 adults and 3 children. With its 2 double beds and a room with 2 singles and a smaller room with 2 bunks. Loads of storage with a full sized bath and a separate shower room. If your not good on your feet the walk to the beach is a bit steep, but there was plenty of carpark space in the town at the bottom if you cant face the walk back up. Loads of attractions from slate mines and steam trains close by, and the beach is soft sand and mostly dog friendly. Hi speed Internet with internet enabled tv so you can log into your amazon or netflix. It even has a separate utility room that houses washing machine and tumbler. We dried clothes in the sun room. You can walk dogs off lead in the cabin park area. A cattle grid keeps the dogs in and the sheep and cows out Owners were very helpful and easy to communicate with.
