What our customers say about their holidays

Location of the cottage was lovely.
The owner Jim very helpful and accommodating in getting our luggage down to the cottage due to the steep steps down the cliff. However when we got into the cottage we were greeted with unpleasant smell in the kitchen area which we were unable to find source. The cottage in general was dirty & damp, within seconds of myself & my partner taking our shoes & socks off our feet were covered in sand, not sure the place had been hoovered & mopped before our arrival. The kitchen - there was dirty marks around the edges of kitchen and floor & skirting boards, all surfaces & shelves had not been cleaned, the fridge & freeze have started to rust as well as the inside of the microwave, the oven was dirty & door broken. The bathroom - dirty marks still left on the floor & walls, toilet could do with some TLC as it very loose & a new toilet seat is needed, shower area could do with a good deep clean. The living room - mould spores/marks on the curtains & curtain pole starting rust which is starting to mark the curtains at the top, floor areas again generally dirty. The bedroom - fresh clean bed linen & towels were on the bed, however the curtains had the same marks on as the living room, when getting into bed, the bed felt damp each night. I had to clean and hoover everywhere just so I knew it was clean for our stay. I feel this cottage needs a good deep clean as it not like the pictures currently. Also the parking needs to be explained better before booking, you can only park on the main road and have to complete a 15-20min walk depending on how fit you are back up to your car. Coming down isnât to bad but going up it is a killer, you have around 160 steep cliff side steps then a very steep hill climb along a small service road to get the main road. Location is breathtaking, and worth the decent, I do take exception to paying the price I paid, and being greeted with something that resembles a squat house. Very misleading with the pictures provided and what you are greeted with.

Wow incredible views certainly a room with outstanding views of the beach and sea.
Perfect for two active dogs, open your front door and your on the beach. The cottage had everything you need for a relaxing week, perfectly clean with all appliances required. One of our dogs was born blind this did not phase him walking up and down the cliff. There are lots of steps and short walk to reach the top of the hill if your reasonably fit then this cottage is a must, I was able to take brief rest walking up why wouldnât you turn around and the amazing views just continue. Jim kindly helped us take our large dog crate up the hill using his winch thank you Jim much appreciated. Husband spent possibly the first day reading Jimâs incredible bookâ¦. I will say no more itâs a must read husband was so impressed he asked for a selfie with Jim!! We didnât need anything during our stay however I donât doubt Jim Nini would do anything to make our stay more comfortable it was more than comfortable Just a tip bring a torch if you arrive later in the evening after a day of enjoying the beautiful views of Cornwall . Words cannot describe the beauty of this gorgeous cottage Thank you Jim Nini for allowing us for this incredible experience

Beautiful cottage a real home from home and WHAT a view.
The accommodation is beautifully presented, well supplied and very clean. Beds are comfortable and all linen is of a high quality. Plenty utensils and crockery, enough for everyone. Everything has been thought through here and the owners have done an excellent job of making this a lovely cottage to stay in. Plenty hot water and heating efficient. There are some beautiful walks with stunning views (weather permitting) on the South West costal path, some pretty villages but take care some very narrow. The downside is the steps, steeper than we thought and some steps are deep and a bit slippy in the wet especially with fallen leaves on, also hand rail was broken halfway down and very slimy from wet. Great caution is needed even for the fittest of people, the step issue should be more highlighted in the description. Also it says dog friendly but I would think seriously about taken dogs, the steps down to lower floor in cottage to front are not good for dogs, they slip and can't get grip as no carpets. You need to keep your dogs on leads and watch carefully. Keep your luggage to a light and compact for carrying up and down.

Fantastic location, high quality facilities (kitchen/bathroom/en -suit/utility area) and very well maintained.
* Directly on the path for costal walks in both directions, 1/2 hr into the local villages (and beyond) and in the other direction to a stunning peninsula. *had an issue on the first night with an external alarm sounding, something to do with the drainage system. I called the maintenance number which was answered immediately and the "fault" rectified within the hour. I also know the owner was involved by phone and was very interested to be updated. For me this was a very good indication that if issues arise they will be dealt with asap. What more can one expect ? ;-) Recommendation = 9 rather than 10. Only because due to the steps leading to the property one would have to give a caveat to some groups (I am 56 and I got up and down 2/3 times a day but I could imagine some would struggle)

The steps leading to the old signal house are a challenge, but what awaits you is well worth the effort!
Choose carefully what you take to the property, back packs are the easiest method of carrying. The old signal house is a very historic property, but has been wonderfully modernised inside, tastefully and sympathetically. The views from the balcony are outstanding, plus you can take the stairs onto the rooftop, which is an amazing experience. The walks around the peninsula are plentiful, a wonderful walk is the coastal walk to Polhawn Fort and beyond should you wish to. Sadly we didnât see any seals or dolphins during our visit but we did see deer and Dartmoor ponies. The options for eating and drinking in Cawsand and Kingsand are very good, even in the winter months, itâs a very friendly area. We are very pleased we chose the old signal house, the steps are quickly forgotten!
