Dog Friendly Cottages In Moray

Brimming with Scottish charm, Moray is a gem of Scotland. Encompassing some stunning coast and a slice of the famous Cairngorms National Park, Moray is jam-packed with things to see and do during a cottage holiday here.

The coast of Moray is an ideal spot for dolphin spotting and you can either keep your eyes peeled from the shore or indulge in a boat trip. Needless to say, with such an impressive coastline, fishing was once a huge part of life here. You can find out more about this heritage at the Buckie and District Fishing Heritage Centre. Further inland a section of the largest National Park in Britain falls within Moray. This wonderfully unspoilt area is popular with outdoor enthusiasts.

Our guide: How to enjoy eco-friendly adventures with your dog in the UK covers many dog friendly activities in Moray.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • Jillian - Verified booking

    Very disappointed to be honest.

The cottage itself was lovely and in a beautiful location and very comfortable. However when we booked the cottage it was advertised as having WiFi which myself and family were highly disappointed to discover it did not. My children were unable to watch any movies on their kindles and I had hoped to do some work/ studying while away and again this was impossible. I would like to know why you falsely advertise it as we wouldn’t have booked knowing WiFi was not available. Secondly when my husband arrived a little before me the beds had not been made up by the cleaners and he had to call someone back to find out where the bedding was, the person he contacted was Rita and she kindly made them up although did say the cleaners should have done them. Dirty cup and spoon left in cupboard. Some previous holidaymakers appear to have been left a ‘welcome pack’ as advertised. There was nothing when we arrived and no welcome note etc as previous ones had been left. There needs to be consistency with this. We have spent many holidays over the years in Scottish cottages at a variety of locations and price ranges but this was the first time there was no starter/welcome pack. First time we have ever booked with Sykes and I have to say that I am very disappointed with the service so far. As I say the cottage and garden were lovely and comfortable and we did enjoy our holiday but we did not receive what we had booked. Also on the first night my husband sat on my sons bed to read to him and the bed broke and they both ended up on the floor. It appeared the wooden frame was only held by small screws in the corner and therefore not suitable for an adult however there was no warning about this and we had to prop the bed up in books for the remainder of our stay. I look forward to your response.

    WOW...

.Yet again Annfield gave my wife and I all the ingredients for a perfect week of rest and relaxation that we so gratefully needed. Having stayed here for a short break back in January we literally unpacked the food, emptied our bags of clothing and stuck on the kettle, it really did feel like we hadn't left. The cottage is in such a perfect position in the highlands. It is a stones throw from the famous whisky trail, beaches that seem to go for miles and miles, lochs and hills to take your breath away when you reach the top.....awesome. We were lucky to see the sheep, pheasant, a young female deer and a huge male hare that jumped across rear lawn. If you are patient enough you might just see a red Squirrel carry out its gymnastic stunts across the fence at he side.....I did... So!, back to the cottage. If you enjoy having to look out of the windows and see hills, trees, wildlife, hear absolutely nothing to the point you can hear a pin drop, then this beautifully placed, well equipped and very clean cottage is the perfect place to spend your holiday and chillax or adventure as much as you can handle. There is one last thing!....If you don't hear "Devine Comedy - There's Something In The Wood Shed! when you see the "Wood Shed" you clearly aren't human......or maybe that's just me....!!… Thank you so much to Pippa and David for all the great correspondence, perfect hosts. Go make some new adventures...… Thank you Nick & Janice xx

We really enjoyed our stay at Annfield, the cottage was just what we wanted.

Communication with Pippa was good, she let us know when she was not going to be around and gave us contact details for someone to call if we needed anything. The locals were friendly and we enjoyed chatting with our nearest neighbour Meg, also the lady walking her big white dog who gave us ideas for walking routes to take, another lady who we met on the Isla Trail, the staff in Aberlour co-op and the young man at the Elchies Estates farm shop . Yes the cottage could do with a bit of TLC, we could have done with an egg cup or two, a visitors book to give feedback and a bit more information about Annfield, the surrounding area, walks to take etc but these minor details were of no significance compared to the peace and tranquilty of the cottage. The garden was wonderful and the visiting creatures were amazing, we loved our daily meetings with Red Squirrels, Roe Deer and Hare plus all the birds who visited for a feed,as well as the Bats circling the cottage and theTawny Owl who called most nights. We know we had nightime visitors who took the food we put out but no Pine Marten was spotted. All in all an amzing stay, the only downside being that we had to leave after or two weeks were up. Thank you Pippa. for the privilege of sharing your cottage .

We stayed at this lovely cottage for 5 nights with our two young children.

The location was perfect, icolated but close to shops & short 12 mile drive from Elgin where they have everything you'll need for entertaining little ones. The cottage it's self is well equipped with everything you need. The bathrooms could do with updating & I would recommend not to use the shower in the upstairs bathroom as water gets everywhere, the bath isnt big enough for the shower above it. This wasn't an issue as there is a shower down the stairs. The WiFi wasn't the greatest, I emailed Pippa (the owner) & she got onto BT as this was a new router in the property. It still was'nt great as we took our fire stick & the movies kept having to buffer when watching them. But giving that it's a very old stone cottage it wasn't much of an issue. When leaving the property yesterday we stripped the beds & noticed the beds were soiled, obviously to little kids who have had accidents (it happens) my only recommendation would be, to use a waterproof mattress protector on these beds. We did have a lovely stay here & our children liked the big garden that looks onto a feild with a cow & bull in it. We would definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

the cottage itself was in a rural place in its own grounds with beautiful views. a short distance away from Aberlour by car. and there is a forest walk that takes around an hour that will take you there on foot. The facilities in the cottage met our expectations comfortable beds, washing machine, iron kitchen utensils....etc.... clean and tidy through out, with rustic furnishings which complimented the cottages era. The cottage was lovely and warm with central heating available throughout. This cottage and location is amazing. The only small discrepancy we had is that after 7/8 hours a day trecking and visiting other places, the sofa could do with something more comfortable to lounge out on, on a evening with my husband it was a bit small for one never mind two and for four adult people it would be a bit of a squeeze……... as the saying goes...…... kick of your shoes and chill.....however we would recommend this cottage for its shear beauty through in and out.
