  We relaxed as soon as we arrived! We loved being able to walk over the road and be on the beach but also being able to retreat away when we needed a rest. The house was fresh and felt loved. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we could need. The beds were comfy! We used the parking for unloading and loading on arrival/departure but parked in the harbour or opposite The Atlantic Inn aside from then - we knew our car wasn't small so would likely not fit well (it fitted but so tightly it felt as though it was going to end in wiping it down a wall at some point if we did it often!) but being able to park close for those days was great and it was easy to find parking close-by that was better sized for our car when we needed it. There's an outside tap for washing down muddy or sandy things which we found really helpful. The location is great, both for Porthleven but also for the surrounding area. Plenty to do without getting into the car, and even more if you do. All in all we loved it and would happily have stayed for another week!

  A fabulous cottage, extremely clean , cosy living room , nice spacious kitchen and really comfy bed. A couple of minutes walk to the harbour. Porthleven is a beautiful place with lots of lovely places to eat and drink. We had a fantastic time . The corner deli was one of our favourites, their pizzas are amazing. The harbour Inn was good too. Amelies was a bit overpriced for what you get . Don't miss the brass band , they play opposite the harbour inn on Sunday evenings. They are really good. . We spent alot of time wandering around the Porthleven , it's so beautiful, stopping for coffee and ice creams . Look out for the local cat Reggie who always seems to be hanging out by the ice cream parlour . They even sell cards with his picture on . We had a wonderful stay , thank you

  The cottage is fanstastic througout. Recently refurfished to a very high standard. There was nothing we were short of or needed. Spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfy we slept really well.Its only a few minutes walk to the town in a very quiet street. No problems parking we always found a space, Porthleven is a great base as its 30 minutes drive to most of the places you would want to visit. Lots of walks form the town. The Ship Harbour inn and the Mussel shoal are great places for a beer. Would stay is the same cottage in a hearbeat loved it.

  We had a lovely stay at the Retreat, the cottage was immaculate and very spacious. The beds in particular were very comfortable! Despite some rainy days we had a very enjoyable week, we’ve been visiting Porthleven for some years now and we highly recommend a meal and drink at the Harbour Inn and pizza from the Corner Deli. The only issue we had was the driveway parking was pretty tight so if you have a large car it may be a tight squeeze!

  This cottage is ideal for two people, in a very quiet location. It is very well equipped, well heated and a lot effort and thought has gone into making sure that guests are well catered for. It has an enclosed paved garden that is dog proof (we have a Border Terrier). There were very clear instructions concerning the practical issues I.e. the rubbish and also lots of relevant information re places to visit etc.
