What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Grimshaw - Verified booking
Both pros and cons to this cottage! One of the twin mattresses was awful and needs replacing immediately, it creaks and groans and you can feel every spring. It was really uncomfortable & noisy! Under the twin beds hadn’t been dusted or mopped. Pans are no longer non stick & should be replaced. Bed runners (twin) were dirty and hadn’t been cleaned between guests. Pills (twin) are flat & need replacing. Double bed was too short for a man of 6’ 2”. However, the cottage is excellently located, a 16-minute walk to Padstow town centre. It was very convenient to have parking spaces as parking in Padstow itself looks a nightmare. We had a delivery from Sainsbury but there is a Tesco up the road. Hob is induction which is far better than the electric you find in most holiday cottages! Plenty of plates & glasses etc although we had to wash them on arrival. Lots to do in Padstow, it’s a really good location for a couples or family holiday. We also did a 5km walk from the town, and walked to St George’s Cove, from the cottage. Just be warned, if you have a child, every stair & upstairs floorboard creaks; it was impossible to ‘creep’ out having got my daughter to sleep without waking her. There is a downstairs single but it’s right next to the lounge area so not great for noise, plus from a safety perspective I don’t like having a child downstairs with adults upstairs. All in all, a decent stay, but could have been so much better with a few small tweaks and a bit more care, especially considering what it cost.

Upperdeck was very convenient for our need to be in Padstow town, and is also close to the ferry to Rock. At the time of year we were there, late September, the property's location near the ferry at the end of North Quay Parade, meant that although the town was busy during the day, we experienced no outside disturbance in the evening/night time. Whether this could be a different experience in peak periods, we would not know. However, the property is beautifully presented with a 'modern feel'. Virtually every need you have from using a holiday let is catered for by the owner; who has clearly given very careful thought to what they provide! We were so pleased with the property, that we popped in to see the lovely, friendly people in the Cornish Horizons office in Padstow to pass on our compliments. Cornish Horizons were excellent in their dealings with us before our holiday. They were quickly responsive to our communications with them, and were very helpful. We would certainly recommend Cornish Horizons for your property search needs. Their website is easy to use and, if you let them know, they can provide you with a list of the types of properties you are trying to find. One final point. Padstow is a very busy town, and convenient car parking can be very difficult. Anyone thinking of staying there probably needs to factor in these requirements when selecting a property; particularly in respect of getting your luggage from your car to your holiday property!

The location of Constantine Bay Cottage is great; beautiful beach/coastline, YHA good for meals, close to Padstow, Weâve stayed at the Ocean Blue complex 4 times before, in different apartments, and been really impressed with all of them.
However arrival at Constantine Bay Cottage was quite disappointing for the following reasons: 1. Floors hadnât been cleaned properly- before unpacking we had to hoover the whole house. None of the corners/edges had been hoovered inc a large amount of dog hair in the main bedroom. 2. A used hair elastic was next to the main bed. 3. There was a welcome basket that contained only a used biro and a pot of drawing pins (no joke). When I moved the basket off the window sill there were dead flies underneath. 4. The outdoor area(s) clearly hadnât been swept for a long time; covered in sand, cobwebs etc. In addition the bench seat was broken. 5. There were crumbs in some cupboards and mould running down the fridge seal. 6. Small thing - in every other self catering property weâve always been left with a dishwasher tablet and a dish cloth. Nothing here so it was a good job I brought my own cleaning things. Our overall impression was of an uncared for property, yet charging a high price. Either the cleaners arenât doing their job properly or they arenât paid for enough time. It was disappointing (and annoying) to arrive and have to do so much cleaning. So, weâll definitely be back to the Ocean Blue complex but definitely not to this cottage.

Can't emphasis enough how fabulous laying in bed and looking straight out, across living area, through front windows to sand and sea is! This little apartment has everything you need gadget/utensil wise and is so well organised in it's use of space that you never feel cramped- ceiling slopes in kitchen, but at 5 ft10 I soon got used to it- not a biggie. Immaculately clean Quality accommodation. Bed is comfy. Shower is powerful. Balcony is a joy- though not peaceful as Padstow harbour is very busy- but we liked that (you can feel a bit on show, but it's especially lovely for morning coffee and evening drinks, after crowds go) So close to brilliant pubs/restaurants/shops- ferry over to rock is 2 minutes walk. Path to beach likewise. Ferry to rock runs every 15 minutes and then you can enjoy rock beach- great for swimming and sheltered, or walk to Daymer bay (half an hour )- café and toilets(40p!!) Or onto Polzeath (1.5ish hours) boogie boarding/surfing. Lots of facilities. We hope to return for sure- loved it.
