What our customers say about their holidays
Maria - Verified booking
I booked this cottage for a week of relaxation, comfort, and luxury over Christmas with my partner and my two friends.
It delivered in all three aspects and on every level. The cottage was finished to the highest specification and beautifully decorated throughout. The owners had gone to exceptional trouble to prepare the cottage for Christmas with a tree not only inside but also outside in the extensive garden. As soon as we entered, we felt so festive. The porch and utility room has plenty of storage, a washing machine, and a sink. This is an excellent area to clean off your muddy boots and your muddy dogs! The kitchen was equipped with absolutely everything we could have wanted. It was extremely useful to have two ovens especially as we were there for Christmas and cooking a traditional dinner. Not only was it well equipped, but everything in it was also of the highest quality. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting around the dining table and looking out through the bi-folding doors at the spectacular views over the Welsh countryside. The log burner made the sitting area so cosy and inviting in the evenings (and of course the excellent hosts left a copious supply of logs) and it was fantastic to have access to Netflix as well as prime, so we had a wide choice of films to watch. The addition of an upstairs toilet was so convenient. My friends were thrilled with the two rooms on the ground floor level. The beds were super comfortable, and the ensuites were beautifully fitted and decorated. And what can I say about the main bedroom on the lower level? It was beyond luxurious, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was stunning, and it was great to have the choice of a bath or a shower. The shower had so many different options, from rainfall to jets on the sides. I was so surprised and delighted to open the cupboard containing the coffee machine and extra wine fridge downstairs. It really was five-star luxury. We thoroughly enjoyed using the hot tub and the views it afforded over the surrounding hills was stunning. The hosts were welcoming before we had even left home. Carol sent me an extremely informative email of all the things it was possible to do in the area so that I was well prepared before I even arrived at the cottage. They were always available should we require any help and we felt extremely welcome throughout our stay. Both Carol and David are excellent hosts, and nothing was too much trouble. They left a beautiful welcome pack for us on our arrival and set the tone for what was to be the most amazing Christmas ever. I cannot recommend this place nor these hosts highly enough.

Cottage was lovely and clean.
There was a lovely welcome pack for the dogs as well as us humans, which was a very nice touch although the milk was out of date by a month, the biscuits were delicious though. The directions given weren't very good and we did get a bit lost as they told us to turn by the lodge, it is actually Rhos Holiday Home Park. Inside the cottage like I said previously was very clean, although a stain on the bedroom carpet. The downside was there is no view but we did know this when booking (it is in such a pretty area it was a shame not to see it whilst having a coffee outside). The cottage could do with an armchair in the sitting room as my elderly mother found the sofa too low and it could only really sit 2 people comfortably. The toilet could also be a bit higher and with a seat that fitted and didn't move every time you sat down. Shower was great. The single bedroom could do with a lamp and a TV, children like to watch TV when they go to bed or read in bed. There were plenty of leaflets (most places too far away though as one was in Essex) and information pack also useful with plenty of takeaway and nearby shop. Lovely cottage to use as a base for a long weekend, as we found a week a bit too long.

We arrived at the property after travelling over 7 hours.
Deeply disappointed with the location and state of the property. Lots of items not working dirty and poorly maintained and grubby. Contacted the owner when first having issuesâ¦. No reply. However did reply immediately when I text the following morning stating we had left the morning after arriving. Having had to book alternative accommodation. Yes it was that bad! Beds were very uncomfortable, springs totally shot, shower dirty with mould and not working. Properly on a very busy road with single glazed windows in disrepair, a graveyard as a back garden. Got no more than 2 hours sleep that night. Best thing about this property was the new kettle and toaster. Have made a formal complaint to Sykes over a week ago and yet to have any response. I have used Sykes many times before but have to say I will not be using them again. Deeply disappointed â¹ï¸

Perfect cottage to relax and unwind.
Access is down a narrow lane with occasional passing places. The stream shown in pictures is located in pastureland and it runs alongside the cottage boundary, you'll see sheep, lambs and cows over the fence. Lawned areas either side and to the front of cottage, large gravel gated drive and lovely flower borders. Cottage was a gem - clean, well equipped and well maintained with great bed and shower. Owners very friendly, helpful and lovely to talk to. Really made to feel welcome on arrival and departure. Gorgeous welsh cakes! The back patio is a delight with far reaching views over lush fields and woodland in the distance. Our favourite part of the day was sitting there in the sunshine watching the lambs. We had fantastic weather all week which was unexpected! Without doubt the most peaceful location I have ever stayed in.
