Dog Friendly Cottages In Blackpool

Your dog will love a cottage holiday in Blackpool

The UK's answer to Las Vegas, Blackpool has everything you could possibly need for a fun-filled family holiday. Let's not forget your dog is part of your pack and, when you book one of our dog-friendly cottages in Blackpool, there's no reason for him to miss out on some family fun times! With some outstanding attractions and the rest of Lancashire to explore, Blackpool is sure to prove a real treat for dogs and their owners.

Overlooking the Irish Sea, Blackpool Beach is world famous for its entertainment and attractions. You won't be able to walk your pooch on the sands between May and September, but bracing winter walks are just as rewarding. However, if you're looking to book one of our dog-friendly cottages in Blackpool during the summer, drive for around 15 minutes to Cleveleys. Cleveleys Beach is open to dogs throughout the year, although you might need to keep an eye out for the signs that'll tell you where and when your four-legged friend should be on a lead.

Hungry hounds and their owners will find plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. Dahlia's Kitchen and Fresch are perfect places for a light lunch and offer their canine customers water bowls and treats. For evening meals, The Mandarin Chinese Restaurant welcomes smaller dogs, while the Pump and Truncheon Pub, on Bonny Street, allows dogs of all shapes and sizes, as long as they're on a lead.

Dog-friendly things to do

Blackpool is an exciting town to explore. Dogs can ride on the trams and many of the shops are patronised by pooches. However, there's much more to 'The 'Pool' than sticks of rock and Kiss Me Quick hats. To help you find the best dog-friendly destinations in the area, we've put together some of our favourites:

Affinity Outlet

What's a holiday without a little retail therapy? The Affinity Outlet is just 20 minutes' drive north of Blackpool and is packed with everything from your favourite high-street brands to smaller independent shops. The good news for dog owners is that the outlet centre welcomes pooches with open arms, so you can both sniff out some bargains together.

Ride a Heritage Tram

These old-fashioned trams will allow you to step back in time and soak up the local scenery at your leisure. Dogs are permitted and are usually fussed over by the conductors!

World Horse Welfare Penny Farm

If you've had enough rides and slides for one day, take the family to the World Horse Welfare Penny Farm. Dogs on leads are more than welcome and you'll get a chance to get up close and personal with horses that have been rescued and rehomed.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • Anthony - Verified booking

This is a honest review of our stay, listing all the good points and negatives.

Good House is generally clean and tidy Settee is a corner sofa with 2 electric recliners, very comfy. Kitchen is clean and tidy and modern Bedrooms are clean if a little dated in places, (sockets very old, cables not routed just curled up in corners etc) The beds are comfy, although they do squeak a little. Fee Netflix is provided and the TV is excellent. Bathroom is clean and the shower is very nice. The downstairs windows were locked, we messaged Paul and someone came round to unlock them and let some fresh air in as it was very hot inside the house. Heating is controlled by a hive thermostat in the hallway, we turned this down as the house was very warm. The 1980s gaming machine was a nice touch. A nice basket of chocolates and biscuits was waiting for us on arrival. Not so good There is an odour when you first enter the house, its not entirely unpleasant and there has been an attempt to mask the smell with an air freshener. There were no dish cloths or tea towels for doing the dishes and cleaning the counters down The curtains in the main bedroom did nothing to stop the morning light coming through at 5am. The pool table was badly levelled, we asked Paul to come and sort this, he said he would, but unfortunately, it never happened, quite disappointing, when that was a main attraction for our boys. There was only one useable pool cue, the others were either tiny or broken. The hot tub had an error message stating the filter was 23 days overdue a change. Other useful info Parking is tight and there is a birds nest in the gutter directly above, hence car was covered in bird droppings. The front door cannot be opened from the outside without a key even if it is unlocked, so don't leave the keys inside the house and let the door shut. The knife and fork drawer is hidden inside the top drawer near the oven. If these small nuances were addressed, we would gladly stay again, the house is located in a generally nice area, close to shops and buses and trams.

On arrival it was an instant .

.Ahhh how lovely, this is perfect !!! Easy access via the black gates for our Free Lander to park up, with plenty of space for ourselves & two Cockapoo’s to enjoy the enclosed courtyard. Which looked pretty with filled pots of flowers & shrubs, a comfy bench, a patio table/ chairs. Enjoyed our first morning eating breakfast outside in the sunshine, some afternoons too, was a nice little sun trap so made the most of the outside area when possible over a typical rainy / windy bank holiday. Entering this little gem of a find it felt warm & inviting, very clean with tasteful decor & furnishings throughout with everything provided that you could possibly need for an enjoyable, home from home comfortable stay. Good layout when taking dogs, being able to close off rooms etc. Lots of little extras, appreciated the milk & welcome treats, thank you & a Woof from Nelly & Teddy too. Especially loved the warm glow of the lighting which made relaxing of an evening feel very cosy. The night lights were an excellent idea. Great location & perfect base to explore surrounding areas which we enjoyed doing so on foot & via the frequent bus service. So close to the dog friendly beach with a short walk to a beach cafe which welcomed dogs. Gorgeous Ashton Park to walk around just five minutes away which you pass as you stroll into the busy friendly Town Centre. Enjoyed the walk along the beach front, passing the Pier & the attractions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mews Cottage.. even met the lovely lady who prepares the accommodation for guests, taking the opportunity to thank her too. Best wishes, Sandy & Tony.

This was my second stay at Mews Cottage, my husband & I stayed in October 2023 with our dogs.

This time it was a mum/daughter get away with the dogs. It was as remembered very clean & cosy, kitchen well equipped for our needs. There is a throw provided to put on the bed if needed should your dogs go on the bed, we had brought one with us on this occasion & used that to cover the bed. Close to the dog friendly North beach (5mins walk) which the dogs loved. We were lucky enough to be there for the air show which was an added bonus as this wasn’t planned. I have a Qashqai which I could park quite comfortably in the yard. The small enclosed yard is great for the dogs as it is safe & they can’t get out. We were lucky with the weather & only had a couple of rainy days. We had a couple of visits from family over the week & were able to enjoy sitting outside in the yard which is a great sun trap. It is only a 5min walk to the town with all amenities, there are a lot of dog friendly places to eat which is great. Michael is at the other end of the phone if needed. We only had one occasion to contact him just before we left & he responded quickly. We met the lady who cleans the property just before we departed, who is delightful & we had a long chat as we both originate from Manchester. All in all we had a lovely week & will definitely be back! Patricia, Lydia & Pooches

    We really enjoyed our stay!

Hope Cottage was very comfortable and very well decorated with lovely colour schemes and home comforts. Immaculately clean and tidy. Every thing needed and more, for a short break (or longer stay). Nice touches with the bread, milk, prosecco and dog bowls and treats, much appreciated! Only additions to suggest would be provision of a sieve and a clothes horse! {known as a washing maiden in Lancs?!} For us personally, a double bed was a bit of a squeeze but it was our choice to book somewhere with a double bed but, as above in new immaculate condition. Neighbours polite and offered to be called on if required. Area lovely and quiet. One small issue with the heating was very pleasantly sorted out with a quick visit, and instructions given to reset the system if needed (which we did another couple of times during our stay). Thanks for being so prompt. Thank you for a lovely stay and we hope to visit and stay again in the future. Kind regards, Dave, Heather and Wilf Ryal : ) 24 - 28/11/23
