What our customers say about their holidays

3 Pensyflog Barns is in an ideal location to explore North Wales and also the local shops like Tesco, Aldi and Lidl were very close by for food shopping.
We went to Blackrock Sands, Cricieth, Anglesey, Barmouth and lots of other places. Nearby is an Osprey Centre (Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn) this is well worth a visit, the volunteers for the charity do an amazing job and very informative. 3 Pensyflog Barns is a beautiful house, very comfortable, looking out to the hills / mountains at the back. The garden is secure for the dog too, with a gate at the top. The house sleeps up to 8 people, so there was enough seating downstairs for everybody. The kitchen had a kettle, toaster, coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. I couldnât find a washing line to dry clothes while the sun was out. There is a small maiden, however this blew over. The kitchen needed another big pan, especially if you have 8 people to feed. There was only one big pan so had to improvise with the slow cook pot to keep things warm. There are lots of smaller pans. Plenty of cutlery, glasses, mugs plates and bowls etc. Upstairs there was one wardrobe to use in the main bedroom, with a couple of hangers. (the other wardrobe had a padlock around the handles) There were no wardrobes in any of the other bedrooms. The bathrooms were gorgeous, a rubber bath mat is needed in the bath as itâs slippery when having a shower. We had 2 very disappointed children as there was no PlayStation which was advertised on the details, they were really looking forward to playing on it in the evenings. Reading another review, they mentioned a welcome pack. There was no welcome pack, so after a long journey, we arrived looking forward to a cuppa to find an empty fridge! Weâve always had a welcome pack in every holiday home weâve stayed in, so had to go and buy milk etc. Over all, itâs a beautiful house, in a great location, but it just needs a few things adding to make the stay easier and take the play station off the details to avoid upset children.

I have had an enjoyable weeks stay in Cornhill Courtyard which is a studio apartment.
The location of the apartment is superb. It is situated in the old historic area of Porthmadog Harbour and has a wonderful view straight out over the beautiful harbour which you couldnât better! I also really liked the fact that the large main room is so light, bright and spacious. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were also fine. Once the sofa bed was up with the topper on top it was very comfortable . However, I did have some issues with the sofa bed. I was staying in the property on my own and as a 75-year-old woman with an arthritic hip, I did find it quite a struggle at times getting the bed up and putting it away. On one occasion the fabric loops got trapped inside and it then became impossible to get it out or put it up on my own. However the owner was extremely responsive and arranged within a couple of hours for the cleaning company to come and sort it out which they did. It needed two men to lift out the mattress extension in order to release the fabric flaps. I had felt concerned about the parking situation in August. However, in the event I was able to park right outside the apartment on three occasions and very close by on the other four days. From 4:30 pm onwards Porthmadog gradually quieten down and plenty of free parking then becomes available. Security of the property is very good as there is a padlocked gate into a small courtyard. Despite the issues with the sofa bed I am very glad I stayed in the property, as I had a very enjoyable weeks holiday. It was lovely to revisit Porthmadog, which I had visited a lot as a teenager and young person, when my parents had a caravan in the area.

A lovely apartment, and well-located.
However, although it appeared clean on the surface, it was in need of a little TLC. The sofa bed was dirty and smelled, we slept on that. The curtains were difficult to open/closed, and the privacy blinds didn't work well. The tiles in the bathroom/shower are in need of a good cleaning, and the pull cords were filthy, and quite unhygienic. There were plenty of cobwebs above head height around the apartment, and areas behind and underneath furniture were full of dust and hair. There was a lack of cleaning materials and products for us to maintain a high level whilst we were there. the outside furniture that you mentioned was old, rotten and broken. this is dangerous and needs to be replaced. However, the apartment was comfortable and the facilities were as advertised. we had a great time, but I believe that the owner should look at the poor cleaning delivered by an independent cleaning company. All of your properties we have stayed in previously have been well-cleaned by the owners and we have had no complaints on this level before. This was not the best holiday let we have had with you, but only down to the cleanliness and TLC it is lacking.

The Oakleys was great.
Would definitely stay there again. Ramona was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. I have sensitivity to perfumes and cleaning products and she did everything to accommodate this. She reassured me by phone before arrival about the product situation at the accommodation. Although there is no way of totally avoiding all this stuff (such as residue from washing powder on the beds and soft furnishings - this stuff really clings!) it was as good as I was going to get anywhere. More places should adopt her eco-friendly approach. I was so pleased to have found this place as several others I had contacted used a cocktail of toxic products. It was great there was no washing machine too, so no previous occupants using washing powder. Though we overran our departure time (although we had been up since 7am packing up!), this was not a problem for her when she arrived. Thank you Ramona.

We appreciate during these trying times that your resources may be stretched however we did not feel comforted that our holiday (that we booked before the pandemic) would actually go ahead.
When we logged into to try and change the dates we were not able to do so and we felt your guidance on the website was somewhat lacking in clarity. The emails we received from you prior to our holiday were contradictory and confusing. We contacted the key holder directly for more clarification. The apartment itself was in a fantastic location which was easy to find. We appreciated the parking spot too. The people staying in the apartment above us (also part of your collection) were extremely noisy, especially during the evenings. We could hear every single step, their conversations and their tv. They might not have been aware of how loud they were being so perhaps a polite notice would benefit future guests. The washing machine in the kitchen needs properly securing as it migrated across the floor when in use. We had to push it back several times.
