What our customers say about their holidays

  • Neil - Verified booking

Me, My Wife, 2 Kids and a Dog Stayed here for a lovely 7 Day's.

The Property is Fantastic and in a good Quiet Location. The Garden is Very Secure and you can hear the Wildlife when you are in the Garden enjoying a Drink at the table. The Owners live next door but stay out of your Way but they are on hand if anything is required. This was helpful to us as the Fridge Freezer unfortunately broke on our first day on arrival. The Owners went out of their way to get a temporary fridge and ordered a brand new one to be fitted on the Monday. The new Fridge Freezer being fitted didn't put us out in any way and no mess was made. The Owners stayed with the Contractors the whole time so our Belongings were Secure. This was out of everyone's hands and things break. The effort and care that was shown/given was outstanding! We will be back again and it's nice to see where the owners care and want to make your holiday a perfect Stay. The Bathrooms and Toilets were Clean. Showers and Powerful so it's perfect for getting the Sand off you after a Beach Day. It's a very short drive to Newquay Town and there's a Perfect Farm Shop down the road that's very nice. Dishwasher, Washing Machine and Condenser Dryer all worked Perfectly and was a pleasure to use! Smart TVs in the Living Room and all 3 Bedrooms too. We will 100% be back in 2025. We enjoyed our stay and as a family we love Cornwall. I hope the Owners read this as we are very pleased with the Efforts and Care. Such a pleasure meeting you and thanks for having us. Neil and Laura ☺️

Overall we had a really great stay and the cottage and surrounding environment were excellent.

There were some minor niggles but many of these were personal preferences and do not reflect negatively on the property or the facilities. In no particular order these were: - o There was an issue with the booking and on arrival we were shown a 1 bed property rather than the 2 bed we had booked. There was an awkward few minutes when paperwork was frantically checked and this somewhat spoiled the commencement of our break. My suggestion with regard to this would be to have individual names for the properties rather than studio 1 & 2. o The property would be better served by removing some of the clutter and non-essentials from the kitchen and dining area. I know many people like to cook a lot whilst on a self catering vacation but for us there was just too much stuff in and around the kitchen. Possible an online checklist prior to arrival would allow the management to tailor the contents of the property to the needs of the guests. o The wet room - My issue is I just don't like wet rooms. The floor was never dry despite all the incessant mopping that had to be done every time the shower was used. The one real issue that we were OK with but should have been made aware of was the building work taking place on the site during the entirety of our stay. The builders were respectful and friendly and as quiet as they possibly could have been but we should have been informed that this work would be in progress.

Everything was better than we expected (apart from the weather'''''') The owners Julia and Dave were a joy to meet a were extremely helpful.

My only criticism was the design of the Wet-room pump action centrifugal spinning floor mop which I thought was a novel and great idea but it is not not fast enough to be effective and not the owners fault either. Then there was the impossibility in getting a cab to take us to the Polgooth when it was RAINING. But to be be Fair it is too short a FARE to make it worth their while I suppose. Still I can't help wondering if they would show an interest and suddenly find an available cab if you were to say name your price, or they could impose some sort of surcharge for short runs at peak times as a minimum charge. To be honest, I would happily have paid an extra £5 or even £10 on a special family night out to save us all from a drenching from the Biblical downpours.. that would have had Noah heading for the hills. The steep driveway was not anything to worry about and became a bit of a chuckle after the first ascent / decent. btw there is hardly any phone signal so a good way to chat is via messenger or whatsapp but then I expect most people know that one already but I was a bit slow to suss that one out. All in all, none of that was Dave and Julia's fault and I've been rambling a bit now methinks, and have digressed from announcing most importantly that this was possibly one of the best retreats that we have spent our break in/at and wouldn't hesitate from recommending to my friends.

I impulsively booked & so lucky this beautiful holiday home was available.

I drive 4.5 hours with my 2 doggos & got there to the most lovely, cleaning and cosy and stunning place. I’m really weird about sanitising every place I go to stay but this was so clean I did not feel I needed to at all. That’s out of the ordinary. Most places that accept dogs are not so on par with places that don’t. This is the exception! I felt instantly comfortable and everything in it is beautiful. The bed was so comfortable I didn’t even miss my own bed, oh and the shower!!! The shower is absolutely incredible! There even was hot tub that was instantly ready to jump into when I arrived, but although I did not use it, I know that would be an ultimate bonus to everyone else! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and absolutely spot on. Only one thing that was a downside and that’s not having WiFi and my phone signal was extremely poor up there to compensate or hotspot my laptop. However, I was somehow able to hotspot to the tv to watch Netflix, which made it even more home from home. I cannot recommend this beautiful holiday home enough!

Wildwood is in a great location and very convenient for supermarkets and local beaches.

Sadly our stay began with us finding filthy, food encrusted plates and dishes from previous guests (that had been put away without being checked) The owner happened to be at the property so he took them away to clean them, but the mugs and cutlery were the same too (not great!) We had to give everything a good clean before we could prepare any food. Not ideal after travelling for four hours! Cleanliness in general needs attention, skirting boards thick with dust, crumbs, wrappers and dirt under the sofa seats and white dog hair on the seat pads. If you are staying in winter months, don’t expect to be warm. When we turned the heating up, it randomly kept going down. We couldn’t understand it as we’ve used the same system before. It wasn’t until the owner popped by that we realised that it was being controlled by an app on his phone and we presume it was being turned back down/adjusted. Thank goodness there’s also a log burner, but the bedrooms were cold during our stay.
